Rare matched pair of vintage 1970s high-back rattan wingback chairs featuring dramatic sculptural silhouettes and open trellis lattice frames.
These chairs have a striking architectural presence, with exaggerated wings and strong vertical lines that create instant visual impact. The yellow-toned rattan adds depth and texture while maintaining an airy, coastal sensibility.
The open lattice construction keeps the scale light despite the dramatic height, making them equally suited for Palm Springs modern interiors, layered bohemian spaces, or refined coastal homes.
A true matching pair in this style is increasingly difficult to source. Comparable single chairs of similar scale and construction are offered on curated design marketplaces at premium pricing.

Nothing that appears as damage. The cushions appear to have been recently re-upholstered with a vintage tropical canvas fabric. It goes well with style and look professionally done. Many rattan pieces sold in the U.S. during the 60s–70s were manufactured in Southeast Asia (Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan) and imported by American distributors. Not 100% but that would be the best guess. less
