A fine nearly 250 year old George III period (1760-1820) figured burl wood side table retaining the original warm rich dark patina. circa 1775
Exudeing the masculine elegance, refined sophistication, warmth, and restraint Georgian furniture is prized for, exquisitely hand-crafted in England in the late 18th century, showcasing exceptional workmanship and attention to detail, high quality construction, and rare luxurious materials, the neoclassical influenced clean straight lines, simple form, and lack of embellishmen, designed to emphasize the beauty, warmth and depth of the wood.
Having a rectangular quartered book-matched highly figured burled walnut top with broad crossbanded border and distinct block molding stepped edge; over pegged mortise solid wood frame fitted with two hand cut dovetail drawers, veneered in striking exotic richly grained burr yew with satinwood string banding, and original pierced brass batwing pull hardware; raised on hand carved and chamfered straight legs.

The collection of oil magnate Jim Musselman. Musselman has an impressive track record of finding oil, leading multiple successful oil and gas ventures, including establishing Caelus Energy, JM Petroleum, founding partner of Kosmos Energy, Triton Energy, and various other oil explorations. He found accidental celebrity when he starred in the film Big Men, produced by Brad Pitt.
Acquired from the above owner through the highly reputable auction house J. Garrett Auctioneers, who had the privilege of selling the contents of Mr. Musselman's Dallas, Texas mansion.
