Each displays a celadon-glazed ground with applied unglazed white porcelain decoration in chrysanthemum sprays, curling tendrils, and foo dog handles with pups. Achieving this dual effect in the old dragon kilns was notoriously difficult — often ten trials produced only one success — making matched pairs exceedingly rare. Both vases remain in very good antique condition with a minor firing flaw and natural variations from hand production. A rare and collectible statement pair for connoisseurs and designers alike.
