They … Read more The most striking feature of these turn of the century trumpet vases is the “ sun purple “ coloring. They are no longer clear cut glass, but are lavender tinted . This is said to be from the manganese in the glass reacting to sunlight. From an estate near New Orleans, these beautifully detailed pieces are from the American Brilliant Period dated 1886-1916. The rim is scalloped and saw-toothed and the foot is circular with a rayed pattern. Notice the beaded pattern on the stem . See less
