The movement bears the hallmark of the renowned Drocourt factory, one of the most respected French manufacturers of Cappuccino watch movements.
The date is engraved on the upper glass:
"5 October 1887"

Elaborately crafted case, originally silvered; the silver plating is now largely lost, leaving the underlying metal with a natural patina visible.
