This set of three bowls is hand-painted with … Read more Three Meissen Porcelain Fruit Bowls, Polychrome and Gold, 1850, in good condition. This set of three bowls is hand-painted with gold flowers, foliage, and foliage on a blue and white background. The bowl is decorated in polychrome and is divided into sections with figures, romantic rococo-style scenes, and highly detailed landscapes alternating with blue-painted sections. The entire bowl is framed by a multi-lobed, scalloped edge decorated with gold-on-white floral motifs.

It rests on a circular base featuring the same blue and gold polychrome decoration with polychrome-painted flowers and miniature figures and landscapes. The bowl, the plate of each bowl, used to hold fruit or sweets, is supported by a pedestal, secured to the base with a threaded brass core.

This set of three fruit or sweet bowls in German porcelain bears the blue Meissen mark of two crossed swords on the bottom. They come from a private collection and are in good condition, free of breakages or restorations, with signs of wear consistent with a 19th century date. This piece has an attribution mark,
