Crafted from warm-toned wood with a beautifully aged patina, the inkstand features an inset pen rest area toward the front, thoughtfully designed for practical desk use. Flanking either side are two faceted crystal inkwells, each crowned with hand-carved wooden lids adorned with laurel wreath motifs and finely detailed saddles—an extraordinary touch that reflects both equestrian pride and Victorian decorative flair. The clarity of the crystal contrasts beautifully against the deep glow of the carved wood.

Between the inkwells rests one of the most charming features: a removable paperweight sculpted in the form of a saddle, beneath which a finely carved dog lies attentively. This whimsical yet skillfully rendered detail adds narrative depth and personality to the piece, evoking stable scenes and country estate life.

The back of the inkstand rises into a barn-style post structure, bearing the original owner’s initials on shield-like panels. Centered between them is a beautifully carved horse head framed by a horseshoe—an unmistakable nod to the equestrian theme. Additional carved embellishments decorate the corners and base, including horseshoes, floral motifs, and sporting emblems, each executed with impressive precision and dimension.

Measuring approximately 9.5 inches wide, 6 inches deep, and 8.75 inches high, this inkstand has a commanding yet refined presence. Good antique condition with signs of wear and use. The left crystal inkwell is removable. There are a few fleabite size chips in the crystal. There are some wood losses and color variation. Please review the photos for further condition assessment.
