The dominant color is a rich crimson red that forms the main body. around the upper rim, the glass thickens and darkens to nearly dark navy blue, giving it a bold,, sculptural edge. Embedded within the red are large, organic patches and flowing ribbons of color. A deep cobalt blue area near the top right. A smokey charcoal/black oval form on the upper left. Swirling streaks of white and yellow create movement through the center encircling a dark "eye". A darker bluish tone gathered near the base. The surface is glossy and highly polished, with soft internal blending typical of studio art glass. The base has been polished smooth. The overall effect is expressive and abstract - almost painterly - suggesting mid-century modern Murano-stye art glass. See less
