This piece is a Chinese carved hardwood "Doctor's Desk", a style of desk characterized by its dual-pedestal design and intricate decorative panels.
The design features a recessed central area (knee-hole) flanked by two storage pedestals. The desk is heavily adorned with traditional lacquered and gilt-painted panels of Chinese opera,
It is hand-carved relief work of the detailed wooden carving in the apron above the knee-hole.
Can be used as Doctor's Desk or Entry console.
