Commanding and lifelike, this large-scale porcelain tiger is a masterpiece of Russian animalier sculpture. Modeled by the renowned artist Boris Vorobiev for the historic Lomonosov Imperial Porcelain Factory, this piece depicts a Siberian tiger in a relaxed yet alert reclining pose.
The artistry is exceptional, featuring hand-painted black stripes over a rich amber-orange ground, with a brilliant high-gloss finish.
Measuring a substantial 11" in length, by 8" tall x 7" wide, this figurine serves as a sophisticated statement piece for a library shelf, mantle, or desk.
Its anatomical precision and expressive gaze reflect the centuries-old heritage of St. Petersburg's finest porcelain production. Fully hallmarked on the underside with the Lomonosov factory mark, it is in excellent condition,with a high mirror-finish glaze
While the "Made in USSR" versions are older, this "Made in Russia" version (approx. 1992–2005) is sought after for having more vibrant, modern glaze colors while using the exact same vintage molds.
