A beautifully preserved antique German porcelain serving dish dating to the turn of the 20th century, circa 1890–1905. This elegant piece was produced as a fine porcelain blank in Bavaria and hand-decorated by a studio artist, evidenced by the painter’s tally marks on the underside.
The dish features a rich cranberry red ground overlaid with raised gilt vines and clusters of leaves and fruit, all carefully hand-enameled. The gold decoration is applied in relief and catches light beautifully, giving the piece a jewel-like presence on a shelf or table. The softly scalloped rim and elevated foot add to its refined Victorian character.
Originally part of a decorative table service, it now functions wonderfully as a cabinet display piece, entry console accent, or centerpiece styling object. Particularly striking in traditional, English cottage, maximalist, or dark academia interiors.
