A whimsical and rare mid-century treasure for the discerning porcelain collector. This Royal Doulton "Pig Bowl" (Model HN 243) was introduced in 1920 and features a charming, squat-bodied pig with hand-painted black and tan "saddle" markings.
The piece is elevated by a heavy sterling silver rim, fully hallmarked for London and assayed during the height of Doulton's early Art Deco production.
Originally designed as a versatile "novelty" piece—intended as a salt cellar, match striker, or toothpick holder—it stands today as an "investment-grade" example of early HN Series animals.
