Antique Polish Silver-Plated Shabbat Candlesticks – Signed Norblin & Co., Warsaw
Elevate your collection with this magnificent pair of antique silver-plated Sabbath candlesticks, a prime example of late-Victorian European Judaica. Crafted by the prestigious firm Norblin & Co. in Warsaw, Poland, during the late 19th century (c. 1880–1900), these 12.25-inch candlesticks feature an ornate, Baroque-inspired "petticoat" baluster design. The domed bases and stems are exquisitely embellished with repoussé floral and foliate motifs, characteristic of the fine craftsmanship that made Norblin a dominant name in the region. Each piece is authenticated by the original maker’s hallmarks at the base, including the "GALW" (galvanized) stamp.
Dimensions:
Height: 12.25”
Base Diameter: 4.75”
Condition:
In Good Antique Condition for their age. These pieces retain a deep, authentic patina. There is visible "bleeding" (thinning of the silver plating) on the high-relief decorative elements, revealing the warm tones of the underlying base metal—a hallmark of genuine antique silver plate. Minor dings are present along the bases consistent with regular use over generations.
A historically significant and visually stunning pair of signed Warsaw candlesticks, perfect as a functional ritual set or a sophisticated decorative anchor for a traditional mantle or tabletop.
