They are English Sheffield silver, with a "Z" mark, indicating 1967 as the year of import. The importer's mark "FD" identifies F. Drury, Ltd, who was a silversmith who was active between 1964-1994 in Sheffield, England.
The shakers feature a sophisticated equestrian motif, with a continuous 360-degree relief of a band of five horses in full stride. The level of detail—from the musculature of the horses to the intricate acanthus leaf gallery at the base—showcases superior craftsmanship.
