While no factory marks are present, the quality of the porcelain body, the richness of the cobalt ground, and the finesse of the hand-painted ornamentation clearly place it within the distinguished French porcelain tradition of the region.
Sèvres porcelain, established under royal patronage during the reign of Louis XV, became the benchmark for refinement in Europe. Its signature deep cobalt grounds, delicate enamel painting, and neoclassical ornament were widely admired and frequently emulated by leading French ateliers throughout the 1800s. This vase beautifully reflects that heritage.
The upper register is adorned with hand-painted draped swags, bows, and floral garlands in raised gilt against a luminous cobalt blue ground.
