A stunning example of the Mexican Folk Art produced in the renown ceramics center Barrio de la Luz in Puebla (Centro Alfarrero del Barrio de la Luz)
A deeper plate "plato" or a bowl "cuenco" with four attached handles, which eventually used to be hung on the wall, aka "tortero"
Very well elaborated with finely detailed decoration in relief, featuring a bird (duck) in the center, in the style typical of the turn of the 20th century Barrio de la Luz production
There is inscription with the name ANA around the bird, possible made as a gift or a love token for a girl
The handles are intricately designed in Victorian taste
Glossy glaze in dark and lighter brown, imitating tortoise shell, "barro vidriado"
A very RARE find, it is virtually impossible to come by one in this untouched condition nowadays, a museum piece.

Measurements: Approximately 12" handle to handle x 9.25" diameter (across) x 3.5" high w. handle x 2.25" deep
It weighs 2 lbs. 6 oz.
Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. No cracks, chips, hairlines or restorations at all, whatsoever. Just a few minor spots of wear to the glaze, commensurate with age and use. Great patina. All original See less
