This is a modern replica of one of Buchanan’s signature 24” copper or steel round wall clocks. The smash hit designs started during the turn of the 19th century, during the industrial era in America, in which, most essential needs and wants were made out of some kind of natural metal resource. Copper and steel being at the top of the list, because of their availability. This remake is much more practical for mass production and for transportation to its new home than it’s predecessor. Buchanan still bead rolls their original designs into the metal, they just do it with machines now. We have moved into convenience more than quality these days, but this US clock company found a classy way to move forward with style AND keep true to their roots, deep with timeless quality!
The colors they used here mirror what an original would look like after 50-100 years of weathering. As is ages copper generates patina, which can look darker or turn a deep green or even blue, just as you see integrated into this original design, By Buchanan Clock Co. This 24 inch numerical clock was most likely made in the late 70’s/early 80’s, when convenience really settled into our designs, but you hang a Buchanan on your wall, no one would be able to tell the difference!!
