The piece shows signs of age-appropriate wear , with the original lacquer showing natural patina and distressing on the top surface. The separation on one side is obvious. The top surface is called a moving panel, the name is appropriate because it allows the top surface to expand and shrink in accordance to the change of weather. For ease of storing larger items, the center structure between the two doors can be removed to allow ample room. The cabinet is constructed in the traditional way, using various joinery and without nails.
