Pair of Late 18th Century Renaissance Revival wooden chairs. The chairs feature hand carved barley twist frames and stretchers and are accented with a floral motif throughout. Each chair has hand stitched dual caned panels on the splat, surmounted by two Cherubs/Puttis holding a crown on the crest of the chair, which is repeated on the lower front apron of each piece. The 2" thick seats (which pop out easily if a new fabric is desired) are upholstered in a soft, velvet woven, antique French tapestry in jewel tones and have ample cushioning for a comfortable sit. A wonderful set to add Old World charm to any room and easy to move around the home with the four brass casters on the bottom of each chair!
