Antique 19th Century Chinese Nanking Export Porcelain Plate & Stand
Elevate your Blue and White collection with this exceptional 19th-century Chinese Nanking Export porcelain plate. Produced during the Qing Dynasty (circa 1840) for the Western market, Nanking ware is highly prized by collectors for its superior detail and more vibrant cobalt blue compared to standard Canton exports.
The central medallion depicts a classic "Willow" narrative in exquisite detail: a serene riverscape featuring tiered pagodas, a traditional tea house, and the iconic figure crossing the bridge. This plate is distinguished by its sophisticated border system, featuring an outer geometric diapered lattice and an inner ring of delicate spearheads and dots.
The plate is crafted from high-fired vitreous porcelain with a beautiful translucent quality. Included with this piece is a vintage dark-finish wood display stand, making it a ready-to-style "jewel" for a Grandmillennial library, a Coastalmantle, or a formal Chinoiserie dining room.

Condition
Excellent Antique Condition – This plate has been remarkably well-preserved for nearly 200 years. The cobalt blue remains crisp and vibrant. True to its authentic origin, there is a small, singular chip on the outer rim and minor kiln-firing imperfections (grit) on the underside. These are considered "beauty marks" by seasoned collectors of period export porcelain and verify its 19th-century provenance.
A masterclass in 19th-century global trade artistry, this Nanking Landscape Plate is a blue-chip acquisition for the discerning collector. It bridges the gap between the ancient kilns of Jingdezhen and the high-design homes of today.
