In fact, he coined the phrase “child art” at the turn of the 20th century. To me, Cižek is probably one of the most influential figures in art history. He made respecting the artwork of children mainstream. When for so long children were scolded for scribbling and not drawing to the specifications of what the adult wanted, along comes a man who actually appreciated the attempts at creation by the child and realized with a little guidance and liberty the artwork created by the child can be appreciated by many.

This book includes 16 full pages of black and white plates. Some of which are some of the most phenomenal silhouettes I’ve seen, and to think they were created by children! So very impressive. Also included are 16 full pages of color plates. And over 100 pages of text.

The members of the Vienna Secession Movement had direct influence over the Bauhaus movement and Op Art even. See less
