Presented is a beautiful vintage Chinese Jingdezhen Zhongguo Famille Noire Mille Fleur decorative plate. This hand-painted porcelain plate has many colors - shades of purple, blue, pink, turquoise, yellow and Chinese red.
Black was the natal color of the Empress Dowager Cixi (1835-1908), and it is reputed that the palace eunuchs added black grounds to famille-verte wares to please her.
