Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) is pressed glass made from circa 1850-1914. The tell-tale sign of pressed glass is the seam where the glass parts were pressed together.
Gillinder & Sons was a glass company started by William Gillinder in Philadelphia, PA. Fhey made some if the most popular pressed glass patterns of the Victorian era. The Frosted Lion was introduced in 1876 and featured a lion or a lion’s head. The pattern is highly sought after.
Up for offer is a set of 4 sherbet or dessert coupes with a clear bowl and a frosted pedestal with resting lions.
