Imported from France. Mid 1800s handcrafted copper preserving pan. Large heavy vessel with turned lip and double handles. Originally used for preserves and jams. Unlined as the exceptional conductivity and even heating of copper was suitable for cooking fruits. Such a versatile piece. We love it on the kitchen island filled with plants. Also great for books, magazines, firewood, or dog toys.
The pan measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches tall. At the handles it is 18 1/2 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches tall. It weighs over nine pounds.
