Likely born in Sweden, possibly France, during the second half of the 19th / early 20th century, showcasing the beautiful elegance, refined sophistication, and relaxed rustic warmth that is Provincial Louis XV style, with light, airy, dainty understated silhouette, gracefully curved form, hand-crafted quality, featuring a solid fruitwood frame retaining the original light pale green sage paint decorated finish with warm, beautifully aged patina, enhanced by worn, naturally distressed, weathered, chippy paint finish.

Having a tall balloon back surmounted by an ornate carved openwork shell crest, comfortable cushioned antique white upholstered seat and backrest, over a gently undulating scalloped shaped apron adorned with decorative floral carvings, rising on elegant cabriole legs.

Great condition overall, especially considering age. Strong, sturdy and stable. Presents very well, enhanced by nicely aged patina, organic distressing, scattered worn chippy paint losses, all wear consistent with age and indicative of use, including dirtied upholstery on the back as shown in the photos. Overall, a wonderful example, in great shape, full of antique character, luxurious style, refined ustic elegance, and Old World European authenticity that can only be acquired over long periods of time.
