A stunning set of 6 very fine KPM Berlin porcelain plates
Extremely well painted floral sprays and bugs decoration, using a reach palette of vividly colored enamels
Although similar, every plate has its own floral groups and insects, none are alike
Roses, peonies, tulips, daises, sweet peas, cornflowers etc., altogether presenting the Deutsche Blumen pattern popularized by Meissen from the 1740's
The borders are elaborated in Osier pattern, a basket-weave in delicate relief
Scrolled edges with red outlines
Magnificent pieces, made of the finest quality German porcelain by KPM, Berlin
Well marked on the underside with the blue underglaze scepter mark with diagonal bar, which was used from 1870 to 1882
Circa late 19th C., Germany
Measurements: Approximately 9.75" diameter (across) x 1.5" high / deep each
The set weighs 7 lbs.
