Émile Gallé (1846–1904) was a pivotal French artist-bottanist who led the Art Nouveau movement in glassmaking from Nancy, France. Renowned for naturalistic, botanical designs (flowers, insects, landscapes), Gallé revolutionized the industry with cameo glass, layered colors, and acid-etched techniques. His work, often featuring organic, flowing forms and Japanese artistic influence, gained international fame after the 1889 Paris Exposition.
