The images represent the Boshin War, also known as the Japanese Civil War that led to the Meiji Restoration. The year that the Boshin War took place was the year of the dragon, the jardiniere has two handles in the shape of dragons to represent that time period. Dragons represent balance, freedom, and good luck in Japanese culture. This wonderful jardiniere can be used as a planter or it can stand alone for ornamental decoration. See less

- This bronze has a green tint caused by oxidation from moisture and a rich patina due to its antiqueness. There … moreThis bronze has a green tint caused by oxidation from moisture and a rich patina due to its antiqueness. There is some residue accumulated in between the carvings. However, we decided not to clean it so as not to remove the patina. It is complete with no missing or broken pieces. Light slight scratches which are normal and happens over time. There is some dirt residue on the inside. It is unsigned. 35lbs. less
