Vintage decorative plates of handcrafted ceramic. High-quality craftsmanship from Seville, Spain. These unique and exclusive pieces are handmade, hand-painted, and glazed. Approximately 16 cm in diameter. They feature a beautiful, brightly colored, glazed bird on the front with a slight relief. These decorative ceramic plates, suitable for hanging on the wall (indoors and outdoors), are made using the cuerda seca technique. They are high-quality pieces, crafted with glazes and fired in a ceramic kiln. Once molded, the pieces are fired at 1070ºC in a special kiln. After the first firing, the plates are decorated with all the colors, then fired a second time at 945ºC, and finally at 720ºC. The Cuerda Seca technique originated in the medieval period when the great cities of southern Spain, such as Córdoba and Seville, were the main centers of art and culture in the West.
