Two ceramic jugs from Puente del Arzobispo, dating from the 1970s. Hand-painted in Toledo, Spain. One jug is for oil and the other for vinegar, both signed and numbered. These are hand-painted, narrow-necked ceramic jugs. The pottery of Puente del Arzobispo is renowned among the most prestigious families of ceramicists in Spain, who for generations have produced some of the finest usable ceramics in the country. They are in excellent condition, except for the vinegar jug, which has some minor chips around the rim, as seen in the photos. Puente del Arzobispo is a town near Toledo, in central Spain. It was founded in the 14th century by Pedro Tenorio, Archbishop of Toledo.
