Crafted from textured stoneware, the clock is richly decorated with engraved and hand-colored motifs, including a tender couple riding a stylized bird, surrounded by flowers, celestial symbols, and playful sun and moon faces. The dial is marked with Roman numerals and centered by delicate clock hands, while a ribbon banner beneath reads *“La bonne heure”* (“The right time”), adding a poetic touch. The soft pastel palette and naïve line work give the piece a warm, storybook quality, typical of French decorative ceramics from the period. Signed *Peynet* in the lower corner, the imagery is characteristic of **Raymond Peynet**.
