An individual English Majolica Plate. This is adorned with berry blossom fruits along the rim. The ground is a beautiful robins egg turquoise.
George Jones worked for Minton and was a sales person for Wedgwood. He established his own company in the mid 1800's. He produced high end majolica. His work is known by the mottled green & brown underglazing as this piece has. His earliest works (before 1873) were marked with a "GJ" inside a circle which is how this plate is marked.
