A sculptural vintage table lamp featuring a sleek bronze-tone greyhound or whippet reclining atop a stepped gilt plinth, all mounted on a polished black marble base. Finished with a tailored silk shade, this piece has the look of a classic library lamp—elevated by the refined greyhound form and architectural base details.
The overall effect is both decorative and grounded: a striking accent for a study, console, or bedside table, and especially compelling in interiors that mix traditional elements with a touch of Hollywood Regency polish. Dates 1970-80s.
JUNE THOUGHT'S
There is something so inherently "library-chic" about a reclining greyhound. This piece feels like it was plucked straight from a well-curated study in a London townhouse. I particularly love how the curved neck of the lamp mimics the lean, elegant lines of the dog below. It’s a perfectly scaled accent for a stack of art books or a mahogany console.
