Vintage: C.1962-1997, Wedgwood Hand-Painted, Bone Chine, Victorian-style, Pattern number W595, and name, "Columbia." Emblematic of an overall floral design theme … Read more Vintage: C.1962-1997, Wedgwood Hand-Painted, Bone Chine, Victorian-style, Pattern number W595, and name, "Columbia." Emblematic of an overall floral design theme with distinctive back-to back sphinx details throughout the pattern. The pattern is based on an early Victorian period decoration and was designed by Thomas Allen, Art Director at Etruria in 1880. The pattern is entirely hand-decorated; by three separate processes, a).transferring, b).enameling, and c).lining, and which received 4 firings.
It is a full serving set for 12, which also includes; a vegetable serving bowl, 14" Oval-Shaped Platter, a Gravy Boat, creamer and lidded sugar coffee service, with a total number of pieces of 89. From an Upstate, NY Estate. - (One Owner since C.1988).
