Antique c1800s Louis XV Style or French Provincial cane back and seat chair. Features mortise and tenon joints, saw cut frame, floral carvings and richly developed patina. Original Paine Furniture Company, Boston Massachusetts label affixed.
Measures approximately 20” wide, 20.5” deep and 38.5” tall. Some signs of age, use, and wear, including one small area of broken caning on lower left back (see picture). Remainder of caning is in very good shape and chair frame is sturdy.
A rare and exceptional antique chair, handcrafted in the USA.
Perfect desk or accent chair.
