Postmodern Memphis Style Charger Platter by Rita Duvall, 1991
Offered for sale is an overscale black and white studio hand-crafted post-modern decorative platter or charger. The piece is hand painted in fanciful geometric and postmodern patterns. The charger is signed by the artist Rita Duval and dated 1991 under the footed base.
This platter created by renowned Memphis Style ceramics artist Rita Duvall in 1991. Working as equal partners with her husband Michael Duvall, the couple did much to move the Memphis Style and Post Modern movement forward. This work exemplifies a moment from the iconic 80s style.
