This really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Mid 19th Century. It is Rendered in the Very Desirable Small 1 Gallon Size. The Classic American Salt Glaze Exterior has a Nice Fairly Uniform Color. The Front is Hand Decorated with a Wonderful Large Cobalt Blue Stylized Flower Design. It has No Maker Mark but I am Sure that it is from the New England Region - Most Likely Massachusetts. These. Smaller Size Jugs were Commonly Used to Store a Variety of Liquids - Spirits - Liquor - Ciders - Vinegar - Spring Water Etc. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. It has a Couple Minor Surface Base Perimeter Area Kiln Glaze Imperfections That would have Occurred in the Making - Kiln Firing Process. The top Rim Spout Perimeter has 2 Very Small Chips and One Larger Chip but NOTE that it is Under the Glaze So it Too Would Have Occurred in the Making. These Types of Surface Marks Etc. are Quite Common as These Stoneware Items were Fired in Multiple Batches in Large Size Kilns.

11 1/2 inches Tall.
7 1/2 inches Wide - Long.
