This Waltham 8 Day Civil Day clock is a truly great find and will prove to be the perfect addition or gift for collectors of a certain taste and age.
This clock was originally in an F6F Hellcat World War 2 military aircraft. Indeed it is mounted on a wonderful wooden display indicating its origin.
CONDITION, PLEASE READ. Unfortunately this clock NO LONGER WORKS. Or it works sporadically. Please see video. When the wind-up knob is pulled out it sometimes will start working before stopping again. I'm sure this is an easy fix for someone who knows how. It probably just needs a service. So for these reasons I'm selling this clock as "NOT WORKING" / Restoration project / AS IS.
None the less, just as it is it makes a wonderful piece of memorabilia or an accent/display piece.
Aesthetically the clock shows signs of use and wear. The wooden mount is marked in places. Please examine all the pictures closely. Zoom in & out to get a good sense of its exact condition: a picture tells a thousand words. The item photos serve as a document as to its condition. You will receive the exact clock pictured here.
Waltham Watch Co / Part No: CDIA / Contract No 84106 / SSC No: 88-C-590
The mount measures: 8 inches tall x 6 1/2 inches wide x 4 1/4 inches deep.
Clock Face: 3 1/16" diameter
Clock + mount weigh approx 1lb 4oz.
All my items are well packed, tracked and fully insured. It will arrive to you in the exact condition as pictured.
VINTAGE CHUCK SAYS: This is the only 1 have so don't delay if you want to make it yours. :o)
