They are a true rarity. The jars, pitchers, and jugs are in perfect condition, without breaks or cracks. The wooden base is original to the period and is in very good condition. These antique ceramic jars from puente del arzobispo are impeccably preserved. They come from an important private collection. Glazed ceramic, handmade and hand-painted. Jar dimensions: 40cm high x 87cm diameter. The municipality of puente del arzobispo boasts top-quality clay, fine sand washed by the tagus river, abundant water, broom and holm oak trees ready to be used as fuel for the kilns, and a deeply rooted population. In 2019, unesco inscribed the traditional pottery making of puente del arzobispo on its representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, recognizing that the manufacturing, decoration, and glazing processes used today remain artisanal and identical to those practiced in the 16th century.
