Illuminated advertising signs of the 1960s were a distinctive feature of many brands and stores, and those of the PHONOLA brand were no exception. Phonola was an Italian brand known for producing radios and later televisions. Common materials used in signs of that period included metal for the frame and acrylic glass for the illuminated surface. Neon lights were very popular and used in illuminated signs.
