- This likely an antique and has patina consistent with age and prior use. For example, there is a tiny chip … moreThis likely an antique and has patina consistent with age and prior use. For example, there is a tiny chip that can be seen when looking closely. Since this is a hand painted piece, there are slight inconsistencies in appearance of design throughout. The painted edges have worn over time. The bottom of this piece also shows tiny black spots which is likely the result of the firing and glazing that occurs when creating these pieces. This remains in its original vintage condition as found. I dated this piece based on my research, but cannot guarantee the exact age. My research showed that the Made in China mark for thus type of Chinese export began in the 1920s. less
