Turned and fluted columns are bookended with round orbs and a disc before connecting with the tripod base. At the head of the base, three carved floral or acanthus medallions join the cabriole legs that terminate in scrolled feet. In addition to the silvered giltwood, other layers of paint are present, including gold leaf, a small amount of mint green, and dark purple, which is most prominent on the underside. Raw wood shows through in small areas, with several pinpoint-sized wormwood holes scattered throughout the columns. We suspect that some of the paint is not original. See less
