A rare and iconic Arne Vodder Attributed Danish Modern “coffin” desk, crafted in Denmark ("Made in Denmark" marking visible) and showcasing everything collectors love about classic Scandinavian design: clean architectural lines, dramatic rosewood grain, and purposeful minimalism.
This desk features the distinctive tapered “coffin” silhouette, beautifully book-matched rosewood veneer, and a floating drawer cabinet with two drawers. A hinged side panel opens smoothly, and the entire desk surface slides across the base to provide the support for the side panel. It's truly one of a kind and so satisfying to engage with.
The rosewood grain is rich and expressive, with deep figuring that elevates the piece from functional furniture to statement design. Slim black legs and a contrasting black drawer box give it a light, elegant stance while keeping the focus on the wood.
An exceptional piece for a home office, studio, or modern interior — equally suited for daily use or as a collector-grade design investment.
Features:
Removable Hinged side panel (“coffin” design)
Two drawers with generous storage
Sculptural tapered form
Original Danish manufacture stamp (“Made in Denmark”)
Condition
Excellent vintage condition.
The desk has been carefully cleaned and lightly refreshed while preserving its original character and patina. Minor age-appropriate wear may be present (white paint marks on lower legs, etc.), consistent with vintage Danish furniture, but there are no structural issues and all moving parts function smoothly.
