This sink was produced 118 years ago, but has very few blemishes to show for its age. Every surface, including the basin, has a nice glossy finish with barely a scratch to be found. The vast majority of imperfections present are part of the make up of the piece. There are slots in the bottom for it to be used with a console base, or it can be "deck-mounted". It sat on metal legs that were too deteriorated to include here, but another of this type of sink from the same house was mounted on a flat surface. This is the easiest and least expensive route to take, as all it involves is cutting a hole in the countertop, applying sealant and setting the sink down. Top to bottom conditions: The faucets are in better than average condition for the age. The porcelain faucet caps are both free of any chips or cracks, and the nickel plating, for the most part, is intact. There is some wear through (to the brass) on the handle portions, mainly on the right one, and the rest is in good condition overall. The waste tube is fine for the most part. The porcelain on top is damage free, and the metal is in good shape all the way down with normal wear present. This sink has not been used for decades, thus the faucet has not been recently tested with water. The turning of the handles does, however, feel correct. Aside from a few very faint scratches from what looks like light use, the following was found: The horizontal surface where the faucet resides and around and in front of the bowl is fine overall, but we are picky, and found some very small areas to point out that had to be measured with a micrometer. There are two 0.02" "dings" to the right of the waste tube, and a couple black dots of about the same size in back of it that are built into the piece, and were there when the sink was new. On the left side, toward the back corner there is a 0.03" chip, and on the right side, at about the midway point, there is a 0.2" "line" chip. Aside from a little very light crazing at both rear corners, the rest of this surface is very good. The slightly raised portion around this area is fine overall. All that was found to point out are two spots on the left side, near the front, that are whiter than the rest. The largest of these measures 0.2" and is believed to be a result of the manufacturing process. The entire vertical outside surface, like the rest of the sink, is in fine condition. There is some very faint wear at the front, and a small, almost invisible scuffed area at the right rear corner. The rest of the outside is excellent. The interior of the basin has a glossy finish down the sides to the bottom. There is a picture of the bottom that would not normally be included due to the glare, but it shows that there is next to no wear present. Aside from a couple tiny chips at the front of the bowl (thus normally hidden from view) measuring approximately 0.03, the only blemishes found are not damage or wear, but are part of the make up of the sink. The largest of these is a small (0.13") raised spot at the left rear. The underside is also in very good condition with no issues found to report, and the plumbing pieces look to be usable. Please see the pictures for further details.
