A fine quality English architect’s drawing or draughting/drafting table of mahogany from the George III period, featuring a double rising adjustable top over a pull-out writing slide with embossed leather, supported on lopers, with a frieze drawer below.
The adjustable, rectangular top can be raised on a ratchet mechanism for use as a reading or drafting surface.
When closed, it functions as a side or center table.
The whole raised on moulded square section legs with open fret corner brackets and stretchers in the Chippendale style. The hinges to the top are stamped “Hodges’s Patent Lock Joint”
The table is fitted with rolling brass casters on its legs for mobility.
