Large Antique Procter Port Style Lantern with an Elaborate Bracket. I believe this lantern would have been modified to be used in a port or railroad station in a stationary fixed place. It has a heavy metal bracket that would have been affixed to the corner of a square post or building. The lantern and bracket appear to be a combination of iron, brass and copper, some paint, some patina. The cylindrical clear (whitish) lens is intact. The lantern is stamped with the name Procter and has a patent date of 1876. At some point the lantern was electrified and will need to be rewired.
