It's a stunning example of Japanese 19th Century, Meiji period, hand carved furniture made for export. In as found condition with wear to the seat, around the calligraphy carved medallions. The chair is sturdy with a little movement to both arms and minor blemishes and imperfections to the dark red lacquered finish.
