An antique signed Kinkozan Kyoto Satsuma bowl, circa 1880, demonstrating the workshop’s hallmark precision. A deep cobalt-blue ground carries dense gilt foliage with crisp edges and steady, confident line, while the ivory interior shows fine age crackle consistent with period Kyoto Satsuma.
The decoration remains coherent and highly legible under close inspection, reflecting the disciplined execution associated with Kinkozan’s best work. The base bears a gilt square seal in seal-script, read as 錦光山 (Kinkōzan).
