Aquatint titled "Cotherstone (Rode by William Scott). The Winner of the Derby Stakes at Epsom 1843". Owned by J. Bowes, Esquire. Painted by Harry Hall, Newmarket. Engraved by Charles Hunt. Background is a wonderful view of the racecourse. Aquatint heigtened by hand. One of the most famous horses of his day, painted by both Herring & Hall (and minor artists). Toned. Not examined out of the frame. Image: 12.25" x 16 5/8". Sheet by sight: 14.75" x 17.5".
