Fabulous vintage stainless steel Alessi brand cake server. Originally purchased at the Neue gallery in NYC. Designed by Josef Hoffmann. Made of Inox 18/10 stainless steel. Perfect to give as a wedding gift or to add to your collection. This is a pre-owed item so please see all pictures and ask any questions.
The designer is Josef Hoffmann and this flatware design is featured in museums around the world.
In 1903, he founded the Wiener Werkstätte with Kolo Moser, where he would develop his signature design incorporating simple geometric shapes starting from the curvilinear language of the European Art Nouveau.
Presented for the first time at "The Laid Table" exhibit in Wienn (Vienna), this cutlery was definitely ahead of its time with its truly modern shape and design.
Originally handmade in silver between 1910 and 1912, today this set is reproduced by Alessi in polished 18/10 stainless steel for durability and practicality.
